The Yanks brought you jazz: African vibes mixed with European instruments and discipline- Slowly but surely, jazz and blues mutated into thousands of rock and roll artforms as diverse as Swamp Pop and Dubstep.
Hated but emulated worldwide, these “colonial twits” of the 50 states have given the world Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, bluejeans, Martin Scorcese, cheeseburgers, the Chevrolet Impala, Aretha Franklin, Jimmy Carter, Stax Records and peanut butter.
